The ASC4-RWH, developed by DS Technology, is a modular system designed to automate sandpaper changes. It enables one-to-one matching between tools and sandpaper types, supporting up to four different sizes, grit levels, or shapes—such as 2", 3", 5", and 6" round discs, as well as triangular and rectangular pads. The system utilizes standard Hook & Loop (Velcro) fastening and offers flexible configuration options to accommodate a wide range of tool and abrasive combinations.
This system integrates seamlessly with the RWH-3DF Workpiece-on-Robot surface finishing platform and is fully compatible with the LCZ300 and LRCZ300 compliant-force grinding tools. Paired with a robotic tool changer, it enables automatic end-effector or gripper changes based on part geometry and process requirements. When abrasive tool heads become worn, the system automatically replaces them with fresh sandpaper without interrupting production. Engineered for high-mix, multi-product workflows, it supports fully automated and continuous surface finishing operations.
Available with 1 to 4 abrasive tool stations for flexible integration and smooth tool changes across varied processes.
